Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between cabinet door styles?

A: Use the images below to help you to determine which door style you are looking for.

Q: What quality of wood is used for AMISH CABINET DOORS products?

A: Our kitchen or bath cabinet doors are made using only select grade woods. For oak doors we use Northern Red Oak, selected for color uniformity. White Hard Maple, chose for whiteness and uniformity of color, is used. Select grade Cherry with a 96% minimum of heartwood on the front side. (note that we give great effort to match the degree of heartwood on the front side of doors in your order.) Paint-grade maple and birch is not uniform in colors and is intended to be painted Flat-panel doors use 1/4" maple, Oak, or Cherry plywood panels. NOTE veneers may take stain differently then the solid wood frames.

Q: What will I need to do to the doors prior to my staining them?

A: Your doors are sanded to 180 grit prior to shipping. You will most likely wish to give them a "quick once over" upon receipt to remove shipping mars. Our cabinet doors are all raw wood. Care must be taken to keep them dry and clean. Doors left exposed can absorb moisture, then requiring re-sanding.

Q: Are there shipping charges or taxes to be added to my order?

A: For orders totaling $650.00 or more shipping to within the continental US is included. For an order totaling under $250.00, an additional $30.00 flat fee will be added. For an order totaling between $250.01 and $649.99, an additional flat $50.00 fee will be added. A further charge may be added for shipping to an address outside the continental US.

Q: To insure my doors are built to the correct size---How should I measure and record my door sizes?

A: First, and most important, we will build your doors to the sizes you provide. We are capable of building doors in 1/8" increments. Please round down all measurements to the 1/8" increments. BE SURE TO STATE YOUR CABINET DOOR SIZES-----WIDTH X HEIGHT These instructions are for a kitchen cabinet where you can see a portion of the face frame on all four sides of the installed door. When measuring the openings for this type of cabinet be sure to add for the overlay you wish. For example, your kitchen cabinet opening is 22 3/8" wide, and 28 5/8" high. If your desire is for the door to overlay the opening 1/2" on each side then you would order a door 23 3/8" (22 3/8" + 1/2" + 1/2") by 29 5/8" (28 5/8" + 1/2" + 1/2"). If your kitchen cabinets are the type where the doors “butt" together with no center stile then measure as above EXCEPT only add 1/2" for one side of each door (each door is then 22 7/8" X 29 5/8") The normal overlay for a framed cabinet with exposed hinges is----3/8" on each side. The normal overlay for a framed cabinet with hidden hinges is 1/2 on each side. Review our measuring guide.

Q: After ordering, when can I expect delivery?

A: You order will be filled and shipped within 20 working days. Actual delivery could add another week before receipt. We offer expediated building and shipping choices. We can give your order priority and build and ship your order in either 12 or 7 working days for an additional fee (calculated for you on the website).

Q: Are there minimum or maximum sizes that doors can be built?

A: The maximum height we will manufacture a kitchen cabinet door is 60". The maximum width is 24". We also put a crosspiece in all doors over 42" in height (double panel door). The minimum width we will manufacture a cabinet door is 6" for a flat panel door, and 8" for a raised panel Door. On doors over 36" tall a warpage of <1/8" is within tolerances.

Q: Can I change or add on to my order?

A: You will have 24 hours from time original order is placed to make any changes. Changes must be made via telephone with a representative of AMISH CABINET DOORS. ADD-ONS may not be shipped along with original order.

Q: Can I cancel an order?

A: Each order is custom built for the customer. The customer will remain obligated to/for any and all order(s) placed.

Q: What is your policy for returns and damage during shipping?

A: Your order was custom built for you. We SHALL NOT accept any returns or issue credit. AMISH CABINET DOORS is not responsible for damages incurred in shipping. We suggest you inspect the merchandise prior to accepting delivery. Note any damage, or suspected damage on the shippers form. To file a claim, call the shipper and request a CLAIM FORM. Keep the damages goods and shipping materials for the shippers inspection.

Q: What is your warranty?

A: All doors are guaranteed to be as specified in the order, with work being performed in a substantial workmanship manner. Mineral streaks, color variations, grain patterns and all other natural characteristics are not considered defects. AMISH CABINET DOORS’ tolerances (due to the nature of wood) allow for some contraction and expansion of the door. Because of how woods reacts to its environment, AMISH CABINET DOORS is not liable for damages caused by negligence or improper: storage, finishing, handling, assembling or installation, by any person. It is our advice that product be finished within two weeks of receiving your order.

Q: What do you do with my name, address, and info I provide when placing my order?

A: Any information you provide for ordering is used solely for that purpose. We do not sell or share any of your ordering information.
